Network Reliability

MB Trading's network was built to deliver the speed and reliability critical for direct access trading. Redundancy and scalability were built into all areas that affect performance. MB Trading's server environment was built to support mission critical operations, complete with climate controlled rooms in a secured building. MB Trading's server farm is powered by redundant uninterrupted power supply units with back-up generators standing ready in case of power grid failures to provide full electrical power restoration in just a few seconds. Each individual workstation on our trade desk and client support area is also powered by backup batteries and a backup generator. Going even further, all account information is mirrored; even in the unlikely event that one complete network fails, the system is designed so that the redundant network will immediately be connected to protect your orders and facilitate the execution of your trades.

Server Farm Architecture

The servers that make up our farm are designed with multiple back-up systems. A status monitor constantly watches every server in the network, checking for a stable connection. In the event of failure of any one server, your order will be routed to another server in the network. Furthermore, this extensive error-checking is backed by redundant data and execution lines.

Server Redundancy

All lines to data servers, ECNs and exchanges are also redundant with load balancing technology designed to manage traffic and avoid points of failure. And with our MBTX smart order route, if one ECN is down at the time your order is placed, the system is designed to automatically re-route your order to the next available ECN.

We’ve also instituted finely-tuned data delivery technology; the MBT Navigator only sends you data for the specific symbol(s) you've requested, keeping the number of data packets transmitted over the internet small in number. Your quotes, subsequently, are received in a very timely fashion; even 28.8K modems can easily handle the data flow. Your account balances, positions, and quotes update instantly, without the need to refresh screen as with many other online brokers.
