Release Notes
What's New In MBT Desktop Pro, Build 2.0.0.60 – December 9, 2011
Order Entry
Bug Fixed: When the Initial Trailing Stop Amt. in the Order Entry Preferences is updated, when returning to Order Entry, the "ITS +" field would not get updated unless this field is right clicked on or the symbol is changed (by clicking on another symbol in Positions window, for example).
Bug Fixed: In some cases, the time triggered orders were allowing invalid date/time values to be sent to the trade server. In these cases the date/time is not valid and the entire order fails on attempt to insert into the trade database. This fix prevents the invalid date/time from being sent to the trade server.
Account Balances
Bug Fixed: The Account Balances screen was not calculating the “Total Net” value correctly. The balance screen was subtracting commission credits instead of adding them for the "Total Net" value. The "Total Net" value should be [Total P&L] + [Net Commissions].
Charts
Bug Fixed: Fixed the CCI study interval preference. The interval length had been hard-coded to 14; user-entered lengths were ignored. This was changed to accept the user entered study length, instead of 14, into the CCI study.
Bug Fixed: Fixed the WCci study (Woodies' CCI clone). A memory leak was fixed that could exhaust memory and bring down Desktop Pro if left running overnight.
Bug Fixed: Fixed the Level II view so that the contents of the symbol edit box become selected when the view or its top most pane gets focus.
Bug Fixed: Fixed Charts, so that the default colors in an installation without a default.chart file are appropriate to a light-themed workspace, not a dark-themed workspace.
Options Chain
Bug Fixed: No Strike prices in the Options Chain for the symbol $VIX.
Options Strategist
Bug Fixed: The default account was not being loaded in the Options Strategist.
Bug Fixed: When selecting a new account, the Options Strategist container caption did not reflect it.
Bug Fixed: The Options Strategist would crash if you right-clicked "Select Account" and then hit Esc.
MAT
Bug Fixed: When trading FX accounts in the MAT Tool, the allocated amounts would allow for fractional micro lots, e.g. 0.26, to be calculated. This would result in the order being rejected with the error "order must be in increments of 1000". The MAT Tool will now allocate the lot values so that no less than a micro lot is entered, and not allow any fractional micro lots.
What's New In MBT Desktop Pro, Build 2.0.0.50 – July 20, 2011
General/Installation
Improvement: Upon startup of the Desktop platform it will automatically check for any available release updates and it will prompt you to update to the newest version, if available. In some cases you may be forced to upgrade but in most cases you will have the option to install the upgrade or to skip it. You also can also use the menu item Help > Check for Newer Version, which will check for any available version. This will be used in the case that there may be a silent version (one which does not prompt you) available.

The General Preferences has a checkbox to always download updates.

Improvement: Tick charts no longer have a limit to the number of ticks shown. Below is an example of a 512 tick chart with backfill data.

Improvement: Candlestick/Bar width now goes down to 1 pixel.

Improvement: Added Heikin-Ashi chart type.

Heikin-Ashi is a type of candlestick chart that uses a modified formula instead of the traditional open/high/low/close. The formula used for Heikin-Ashi is the following:
- Close = (Open+High+Low+Close)/4
- Open = [Open (previous bar) + Close (previous bar)]/2
- High = Max (High,Open,Close)
- Low = Min (Low,Open, Close)
The purpose of the Heikin-Ashi chart is to identify the price trend. Candles with no lower shadows occur during a strong uptrend. Candles with no upper shadow occur during a strong downtrend.
Improvement: Added middle line indicator to all hi-low band studies, which can be displayed and its settings controlled in the studies settings panel as shown in the following CCI settings window:

To change these settings, right click on the Open Order or Position line and select Preferences. There is a check box to Show Text Line and there are radio buttons to display on the left or right. Here is an example of the Text turned off:

Here is an example of the text displayed on the right:

Order Entry
Improvement: Added the FOREX symbols XAU/USD (Gold/US Dollar) and XAG/USD (Silver/US Dollar) to be available for trading. Please note these symbols trade in Quantity instead of Lots.
Improvement: Added two new order types – Market-if-Touched (MIT) and Limit-if-Touched (LIT).

A Market-if-Touched (MIT) order is an order to buy (or sell) a contract below (or above) the market. The MIT order is held in the system until the trigger price is touched. When the trigger price is touched the order is submitted as a market order.
A Limit-if-Touched (LIT) order is similar to a stop order, except that an MIT sell order is placed above the current market price, and a stop sell order is placed below.
Improvement: Preferences for TTO orders now apply to all Stop related orders.

Improvement: You can now toggle the Unit to Use for Stop and Limit Values between Price and Currency (for Stocks, Futures, and Options) and Price, Currency, and Pips (for FOREX). Right click in the Order Entry and select Preferences. You will see this feature in the upper left corner.

In the below example, a Stop Market order would be placed $0.50 above the market price. If you wanted the order to be placed $0.50 below the market, you would enter a value of -0.50.

Here is an example of a Limit order that will be placed 5 pips above the market.

Improvement: New Order Type – Order Triggers All or Other (OTA)
Example:
Place Limit order to buy 100 YHOO @ $15.00 (below market)
Order is displayed in Open Orders window
Change limit price to $10.00
Select Trigger By… from the Trigger Action dropdown menu

You will see the Trigger Order By window

Select the desired order and click OK.
You will get a confirmation of the order being placed. Click OK.
The 2nd order will be suspended until the 1st order is triggered.
There is no limit to the number of orders that can be included in a triggered order group or the number of orders that can be chained in a triggered order sequence.
If you right click in the open orders window you will see the option to display the triggered orders indented in the sequence of the triggered order chains.
Improvement: New Order Type – Order Cancels All (OCA)
Example:
Buy 100 YHOO @ market
Select Stop Market order type, qty 10, stop price less than market

This will bring up the Cancel Group IDs window

Select the desired Group ID and click OK
You will get a confirmation of the order being placed. Click OK.
Select Market-if-Touched order type, qty 10, stop price greater than market
Select Cancel by OCA from the Trigger Action dropdown menu
Select the same Group ID as before and click OK
You will get a confirmation of the order being placed. Click OK.
The Open Orders window will have both of these orders displayed.
When either one of these orders fills first the other order will be cancelled. There is no limit to the number of orders that can be added to an OCA Group.
Improvement: Several enhancements were made to the Order Entry screen to make it faster for clients to be able to set and enter limit orders (especially to FOREX clients).
By moving one price (stop) you won't have to touch the other price based on the desired differential preference setting and one click of a box depending on if the trade will be long or short.
In the Preferences screen, you use the "Use Stop Limit Offset" checkbox for Stop Limit Field syncing, if it is unchecked (off), you control the fields separately, if checked (on), they move as noted above.
In the Preferences screen, you use the “Offset Pips" setting, to set to x pips, which will be the difference between the Stop and Limit either up or down.
This setting will also work in cents for Equities and Options and ticks for futures.
For a Stop Limit order the Stop field is now in front of (to the left) the Limit field. This allows you to focus on the stop price first (what triggers the trade), then the limit beyond.
If the Stop Limit field syncing is turned on in preferences, a rectangular box to the right of the Type: Stop Limit box will be displayed as shown in the following screen shot.

If the box is green, the Limit jumps to x.xx (pips, ticks, or price depending on asset class) above the Stop based on x set in the Preferences “Use Stop Limit Offset”.
If the box is red, the Limit jumps to x.xx (pips, ticks, or price depending on asset class) below the Stop based on x set in the Preferences “Use Stop Limit Offset”.
If you click the up/down arrows or scroll up/down to change the Stop price, the Limit should move in sync.
If you click the up/down arrows or scrolls up/down to change the Limit price, the Stop should NOT move. You can in this way extend the Stop Limit offset.
If you right click on the box, a selection menu opens that allows you to scroll through numbers to select the Stop Limit Offset.
Improvement: New Order Type “Initial Trailing Stop”. See the following screen shot:

For a Buy order, the Initial price should be greater than (>) the current market price (though not required...but if not, the order will trigger immediately, much like a regular Buy Stop where the price is less than or equal to the market price). The Final stop must be less than (<) the Initial stop. This is required because as the asset drops in price, the stop price will continue downward until it hits the Final price, at which point it will no longer trail lower.
For a Sell order, the Initial price should be less than (<) the current market price (again, not required, with same caveat as for a Buy order). The Final stop must be greater than (>) the Initial stop. As the asset price increases the stop will tick up until hitting the Final, and then likewise no longer trail higher.
Improvement: TTO Trailing Offset option is now available for closing long and short positions.
Improvement: You can now set the default Trailing Stop with subpip values (ie. 1.5 pips).

icon in the toolbar.

Updated with all features of MBT Desktop 11.5.0.3
What's New In MBT Desktop Pro, Build 54 - January 11, 2010
Changes since Build 53, January 4, 2010
Highlights:
- Sources for the Market Profile plugin were updated to the latest available.
- All display plugins are now sensitive to Display Time preference. Their cursor windows show the active time zone. Prices in the vertical scale pane and cursor window are formatted per the MBT convention. (Bug 1843.)
- When a watch list, basket or FX board is deleted, the associated window is closed. (Bug 2003.)
- The UI restricts the number of views that can be created, in the same way as MBT Desktop. (Bugs 1533, 1534.)
Other Changes:
- A typo in the installer was corrected.
- The sources for all AxMbt classes were updated to capture changes in Nav. (No change in program behavior.)
- Investigated the behavior of the Sym and Intv color codes on the MAT view; did not see the problem reported. Will continue checking.
Changes since Build 52, December 4, 2009
Highlights:
- Improved the selection of drawing tools with the mouse. It was difficult to select a control point individually and drag it, as opposed to the segment connecting it or the rest of the tool. (Example: Retracement Tool.)
- Fixed the selection of data panes. The problem was seen as appearance of a line-tool context menu, when right clicking on a plugin pane study, e.g., MoneyFlow.
- Made the display of prices in charts and quote sheets consistent with other MBT software.
Build 53

Build 52

-
In build 53's cursor data window, MBT-standard formatting routines are used for all price values: Open, High, Low, Close, and Price.
"Price" refers to the location of the mouse when hovering over a price pane. Its value is rounded to standard trading units. (E.g., for /ZBH0, it would display a value such as 115'155, not its decimal equivalent 115.484375.)
"Cursor" also refers to the location of the mouse. It is rounded to 1/10 of the symbol's normal price precision, and is displayed with the same MBT-standard formatting routine. (E.g., for /ZBH0, Cursor would show 115'115 instead of 115.484375, as these are equal. Or, it could show 115.47926, as this lies between 115'150 and 115'155.
Builds 53 and 52:

-
When the mouse hovers over a study pane, the "Price" legend changes to a shortened version of the study name, e.g., "Volume." The formatting of the value changes according to the study. For studies that are thought of as volume (Volume, Open Interest, Accumulation Distribution Index, On-Balance Volume) the volume-formatting style is used. (In build 52, study values were reported with two digits of decimal precision.)
Builds 53 and 52:

- Plugin studies have been modified to format prices using the MBT-standard routines. Because this requires an interface change, build 53 requires plugins to carry a version stamp matching its own.
-
A dialog was added to allow the standard formatting of symbols and studies to be replaced. Changes made in this dialog take effect when the dialog is closed. (Build 53 exception: for plugin studies it may be necessary to close/reopen the study, or change the active symbol or interval.)
Menu location: Tools / Format of Numbers in Charts and Quote Sheets.

- Snapshot fields were added that allow one to inspect the MBT formatting associated with a symbol.
- Price Type is the MBT code assigned to the symbol.
- Increment is the smallest increment that would be seen in the Order Entry dialog, for that symbol.
- SubIncrement is 1/10 of Increment; it is used for reporting cursor position over a chart.
None of these fields is affected by the "Format Numbers in Charts and Quote Sheets" dialog.

Other Changes:
- The title of the Stochastic RSI preferences dialog was changed from "Stochastic" to "Stochastic RSI".
