A proprietary algorithm uses the entered limit price "price vs. speed" setting to scan the market for liquidity. All Clients electing a Speed setting of 1 or higher waive their rights to "Best Execution".

Market-on-Open
NASDAQ - A market order initiated at the NASDAQ market open (9:30 EST). Upon activation, MBTX uses its algorithm to find the best price in the marketplace, however, the price cannot be guaranteed.
NYSE - A market order initiated at the opening print of the NYSE or AMEX. The order is forwarded to the specialist and held until the open. Prices vary based on conditions that are not always reflected. The price at which your order is filled may be better or worse than you expected.
Stop Loss Market
Buy or sell a stock at market once the price reaches or passes through a specified price. Used by traders who either own a position (long or short) and want to close the position if it moves against them OR by traders that wish to open a new position once the stock rises to a specific level. The stop price on a sell stop must be below the current bid. The stop price on a buy stop must be above the current offer. Stop orders in volatile issues will not guarantee you an execution at or near the stop price. Once triggered, the order competes with other incoming market orders.
Stop Loss Limit
Works like a Stop Loss Market order with one major exception. Once the order is activated (by the stock trading at or through the stop price), it does not become a market order. Instead, it becomes a limit order with a specified price. The advantage of this order is that you set a specified price at which your order can be filled. The disadvantage is that your order may not be filled. In this case, your exposure to loss will continue until the position is closed.
Reserve
Only display a fraction of your actual trade size on Level II. Someone that trades larger sizes may find this very useful. It provides a terrific way to keep costs down because you are only charged one commission and you have the benefit and advantage of hiding your true order size.
Trailing Stop
Ride a stock's price trend, profit from its movement, and limit your downside risk without constantly monitoring prices. Trailing stops move your stop price with the price of the stock and are server-sided, protecting you in the event you lose internet connection.
Discretionary
Set a discretionary price range when placing an order. For example: Buy 100 CSCO at a limit price of 65 with a discretionary price of 65 1/2. Your order is displayed at your specified limit price, not your discretionary price. When a bid or offer appears at or within your discretionary price range, your order will be routed to the NASDAQ Market Participant(s) at their quoted price. Please note that stock can trade ahead of you because your discretionary price does not necessarily make you the best bid or offer. Only available for equity orders.
Discretionary Reserve
Same as Discretionary order but also provides the option to show only a fraction of the total trade size. Someone that trades larger sizes may find this very useful. It provides a terrific way to keep costs down because you are only charged one commission and you have the benefit and advantage of hiding your true order size. Only available for equity orders.
Threshold Triggered Order (TTO)
Specify two prices, an upper and lower price threshold. Once the inside market trades at either threshold, a market order is sent to the marketplace. TTOs were designed to help limit potential losses and lock-in potential profits.
Limit + Trailing Stop NEW!
Initially places a limit order on one side (either a buy or sell) and upon execution, places an opposite trailing stop on the other side (either a buy or sell). Upon execution of any part of the initial limit order, an equal trailing stop is placed with your pre-set offset. Clients using Market + Trailing stop should select Plan A per share commissions which result in an overall lower commission than Plan B.
Market + Trailing Stop NEW!

Build 53

Build 52
![]()
In build 53's cursor data window, MBT-standard formatting routines are used for all price values: Open, High, Low, Close, and Price.
"Price" refers to the location of the mouse when hovering over a price pane. Its value is rounded to standard trading units. (E.g., for /ZBH0, it would display a value such as 115'155, not its decimal equivalent 115.484375.)
"Cursor" also refers to the location of the mouse. It is rounded to 1/10 of the symbol's normal price precision, and is displayed with the same MBT-standard formatting routine. (E.g., for /ZBH0, Cursor would show 115'115 instead of 115.484375, as these are equal. Or, it could show 115.47926, as this lies between 115'150 and 115'155.
Builds 53 and 52:
![]()
When the mouse hovers over a study pane, the "Price" legend changes to a shortened version of the study name, e.g., "Volume." The formatting of the value changes according to the study. For studies that are thought of as volume (Volume, Open Interest, Accumulation Distribution Index, On-Balance Volume) the volume-formatting style is used. (In build 52, study values were reported with two digits of decimal precision.)
Builds 53 and 52:

A dialog was added to allow the standard formatting of symbols and studies to be replaced. Changes made in this dialog take effect when the dialog is closed. (Build 53 exception: for plugin studies it may be necessary to close/reopen the study, or change the active symbol or interval.)
Menu location: Tools / Format of Numbers in Charts and Quote Sheets.
